Jodie Haney - Founder & Coach

CF-L3 Trainer

In 2009, a dear friend introduced me to CrossFit. I had tried many different ways to stay fit, but none of them seemed to work! Walking into that CrossFit box took some guts, but five minutes into class, I was sold. My new CrossFit coaches patiently taught me how to train, eat and recover properly. Little-by-little, I started to feel comfortable in my own skin again! As your coach, I’ve got your back. I will be with you through the ups and downs. Together, we will get you from where you are to where you want to be!

Playing high school football in Texas and collegiate football for Clemson University, I spent a lot of time in weight rooms grinding through routines. Those old-school workouts bored me to death. In CrossFit, though, everyday is different, and this variety keeps me coming back for more. As an almost 10-year CrossFit veteran and now CF-L1 Trainer, I’m having fun in the gym, and I want you to enjoy training and playing the long game with me.

I love facilitating that one sacred hour of the day when my athletes can focus solely on themselves. Life is busy, and being a mom of three, I understand how important and challenging it is to make our own health a priority. We all desperately need that time to recharge and re-energize. When you make a commitment to walk through our doors, I make a commitment to help make training the best part of your day!

What, when, and how much to eat…so many questions without consistent answers. Sleep, stress, exercise…how much do those things really affect the way we feel everyday? It’s no wonder most of us feel clueless about our nutrition and overwhelmed because we just don’t know where to start. Feeling healthier, more energetic, and more confident doesn’t have to be overwhelming restrictive. Having a degree in health science and practicing dental hygiene for 17 years have taught me the principles of proper nutrition. However, until a few years ago, I still didn’t understand how to fit proper nutrition into my busy lifestyle. Precision Nutrition, and a wonderful coach, gave me the missing pieces and helped me learn new ways to make healthy habits consistent and sustainable. I would love to be able to do the same for you!

In early 2021, I began my fitness journey after being encouraged to give CrossFit a try. Up until that point, I had never played a sport or worked out regularly. Everything about “the gym” terrified and intimidated me! I was frustrated that, at 21 years old, I was already too weak and inflexible for some of my regular day-to-day responsibilities. The second a saw myself getting stronger and becoming capable, I was obsessed with training. I graduated from LSU with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Sociology. As a coach and a lover of psychology, I love finding what makes people tick and what motivates athletes to keep working towards their goals. I get what it feels like to start from the bottom, and as your coach, it brings me joy to make your goals achievable for you!

In 2015, I started CrossFit and got into the best shape of my life! Two years later, I became pregnant with my 3rd child. After giving birth, I was postpartum, post-surgery, and frustrated by all of my new limitations. The coaches at The Boot CF helped me to manage the unfair expectations I had of myself. Together, we set realistic goals and timelines to meet them. We found healthy ways to rebuild my athletic foundation. Most importantly, though, I learned that I don’t have to be hard on myself to get results. I can be consistent, intentional, and still get better every day! As your coach, I’m in your corner. I can’t wait to help you reach your goals and become the best version of yourself!

In 2014, at 38 years old, I walked into my first CrossFit gym. I was overweight, out of shape, battling high cholesterol that was near stroke level and borderline diabetic. My doctor gave me an ultimatum, start eating better and take care of my health or don’t expect to see age 40. I’ll admit, I was scared and very intimidated by the athletes at CrossFit. I wondered what have I got myself into, but I stuck with it. After two months, I started seeing results. At six months, my doctor started seeing better health numbers. I was hooked. Without a doubt, training and coaching are the best hours of my day. CrossFit makes me feel alive and helping others become healthier is incredibly fulfilling considering my own journey. “Define your own happiness and never fall victim to the limitations that others have placed on themselves! That’s their burden, not yours.”
